Hands threading fine glass beads in an original Luvlinks DIY kit concept

KANDI SPIRIT. CONSIDERED DETAILS.

Your hands.
Your colors.
Your connection.

A proposed kit for making the strand yourself: precision glass seed beads, a flexible beading line, a small personal detail, and removable adapters matched to an existing earplug model. The first direction is a guided bead bar—choose and string your design, then have its connections professionally finished and checked.

About 52 cm of seed bead coverage.

Excludes cord, charms, sleeves, connectors and earplugs. This is not a finished weight or a safe-load rating. Length is bead coverage, not a fitted necklace size.

02 / THE DETAILS WE ARE DEVELOPING

Small, on purpose.

THE BEADS

Fine glass.
Precise color.

1.6 mm Japanese glass seed beads are the starting direction. Color swaps keep the same bead size. Pearl accents and charms are separate options that need their own measured mass.

THE STRAND

Flexible.
Finished properly.

A nylon-coated, fine multi-strand beading cable is the first jewelry prototype candidate. We will compare its drape with soft braided textile cord before selecting the final kit material.

A cable needs a correctly finished termination; this is not a knot-and-wear instruction.
THE CONNECTION

Soft at
the terminal.

A separate soft silicone retainer fits around an existing earplug stem. The earplug housing stays unchanged. We will source a model-compatible adapter; this is not a universal-fit promise.

The actual earplug/adapter pairing needs supplier confirmation, samples and comfort testing.

THE REVISED CONNECTION STUDY

A softer
little link.

The beading is personal. The earplug stays as it is. The proposed connection uses an off-the-shelf, model-compatible soft adapter that slips onto the existing stem, with its tail joining the decorative strand.

Loop Link demonstrates the separate silicone-ring principle. Our illustration is a fit study, not a claim that Loop’s part fits this rendered earplug. The specific adapter has not been sourced; the final pairing needs fit, retention and comfort checks.

A NOTE FROM THE STUDIO

Make it yours.
Make it considered.

How is the bead estimate calculated?

The planner uses MIYUKI’s approximate Delica 11/0 reference of 200 beads per gram and 77 beads per 10 cm. Actual lots vary. The illustration uses color concepts, not approved bead SKUs. Read the manufacturer’s size and count data ↗

Does this require a new earplug mold?

No. The direction is to source an existing earplug and a compatible removable adapter. Loop’s official Link instructions show a separate silicone ring passing over the ear tip. That is a useful attachment principle, not proof of cross-brand compatibility. See Loop’s attachment instructions ↗

What is the cord candidate?

Soft Flex Fine, listed at 0.014 in / 0.36 mm, is a nylon-coated beading-wire candidate recommended by its maker for seed beads. It is a sourcing starting point, not a validated earplug tether. A soft braided textile alternative and a controlled release design still need comparison. See the manufacturer’s specification ↗

Can I make or buy this kit yet?

This page is a design concept, not assembly guidance for an ear-worn product. The proposed first experience is a guided bead bar with professionally finished connections. An at-home rethreadable closure would follow only after it has been developed and tested. No product or kit is for sale here.

Why not set a maximum safe weight?

Bead mass alone cannot establish comfort or safety. Finished weight, fit, movement, cord tension, snag behavior, and the attachment all matter. No safe load is claimed; the completed design needs physical evaluation.
